Terms

Dibs is a wishlist service run by Nick Duell. Using it means you agree to what follows. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Your account
You need an email address to keep a list. Keep access to that inbox, because it is how you sign in. You are responsible for what you put on your list and for who you share your link with. Anyone holding the link can see the list.
What you can’t do
Don’t use Dibs to harass anyone, to spam links, to list anything illegal, or to impersonate someone else. Don’t try to break, overload, or scrape the service. We can remove content or close an account that does these things, and we will tell you why.
Paying
The free tier is genuinely free and stays that way. Paid plans bill once a year through Stripe. You can cancel any time from your settings, which takes you to Stripe’s billing page. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep everything you paid for until the end of the period you already bought.
Adding a person beyond your plan’s included spots costs $4 a year, charged pro rata for the rest of your current year.
If a plan lapses, nothing is deleted. Your list, items and history stay exactly where they are. The paid extras stop, and anything over the free limits becomes read-only until you tidy up or resubscribe.
If we ever raise a price, it will not apply to you until your next renewal, and we will tell you before that renewal.
Refunds
If Dibs isn’t what you expected, email hello@dibs.gifts within 30 days of paying and we will refund you in full. After that, cancelling ends the next renewal rather than refunding the current year.
Your content
Your list is yours. We claim no ownership of what you put on it, and we do not use it to train anything. We store and display it only to run the service for you and the people you share your link with.
The honest caveats
Dibs is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and correct, but we don’t promise it will never be down, never lose a scraped product image, or never get a price wrong. Gift buying still involves you checking things. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last twelve months.
We may change these terms. If a change matters, we will say so here and update the date at the top. If you keep using Dibs after that, the new terms apply.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from settings, and everything goes. We can close an account that breaks the rules above. If we shut the service down entirely, we will give notice and time to export.
